Wg Cdr David O'Reilly is a consultant hepatobiliary and general surgeon at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. He was part of the Department of Health team that introduced regionalised trauma care to England and has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. His research interests include prehospital blood transfusion, the effects of blast on coagulation and quality improvement in trauma care.
Colonel Peter Mahoney CBE is is an Army Anaesthetist and Intensivist and is the UK military's first Defence Professor in Anaesthesia and Critical Care. He has deployed with both the military and NGOs undertaking anaesthesia and prehospital care roles. His research interests centre around resuscitation for the ballistic casualty.
