Illustrated with an engraved tite.Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpapers, "Mrs C. L. Davies". Bookplate of T. H. H. Davies of Elmley Castle to the front paste downs of 'Goldsmith' and 'Hume'. In a full calf binding. Externally, a little worn, with loss to the head of the spines, heavier to 'Goldsmith. Worming to the spines and joints. Light bumping to the extremities, and a few minor marks to the boards and spines, heavier mark to the front board of 'Swift'. Front joint of 'Shakespeare' is starting, hinge is strained. Small puncture marks to the head of the rear board of 'Shakespeare'. Front hinges are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpapers. Bookplate to the front paste downs of 'Goldsmith' and 'Hume'. Internally, firmly bound, 'Hume' is generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean. Pages iii-x of 'Shakespeare' are detached but present, with a small tidemark to the head of the textblock. Small patch of worming to the final few pages of 'Johnson' Volume I, heavier to the first and last few pages of 'Johnson' Volume II and 'Swift', with very marginal loss of text to 'Swift'. Heavier worming to 'Hume', though with no loss of text. Good Only.…
