Alan “Al” Tollefson was raised in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Lake Minnetonka. He began waterskiing when he was 5 years old and eventually began competing in slalom and jumping at local, regional and national waterski tournaments. He also had a passion for snow skiing and later in life became a Certified Midwest Ski Instructor and taught snow skiing for 15 years. Al took up running in the spring of 1977. Since then he’s developed a fascination with the human body and how it works and why it works the way it does. He writes about how and why our bodies thrive on good nutrition and exercise. Al is convinced that almost everyone can easily get the daily exercise they need to be healthier and more fit and shows you how to do it with examples, easy to follow plans, tips and statistics.
