Item description from seller

Condition Notes: Gently rubbed at the edges of the spine and wrappers otherwise a very well presented copy; Paperback; Measures 9¾" x 6¾" (0.6 kg); pp 186; Preface by Dorothy Shanahan & Andrew Robson; First in this edition. Illustrated with B&W photographs. From the introduction: "In presenting this collection of articles reprinted from Country Life and other publications, Raymond Brock has revived memories of bridge as it was played in the post-war years up to 1968. Harrison-Gray, universally known as ‘Gray’, was undoubtedly one of the greatest player-writers in the world of bridge and these articles display his skill in a style of writing with is both elegant and entertaining. Most of the hands are taken from actual play and have been analysed to bring out some practical instructive point, although instruction is not the primary object of articles to which were written for readers whose bridge standards were wide-ranging." || The book is on the shelf, ready to be appropriately packed, and posted from the pastoral paradise of Peasedown St. John, Bath, by a real bookseller in a real book shop - with my personal guarantee and beady eye on the Consumer Contracts Regulations. REMEMBER! Buying my copy means the book shop Jack Russells get their supper! My Book #169081 ||.

Description de la boutique

BookLovers of Bath is based in the rural idyll of Peasedown St. John in Somerset (God's Own Country) in the south west of England and actually very nearly in Bath. After 20 years of being “internet only” I have now opened a shop, Fact or Fable, in the premises of our now-closed Post Office. With over 10,000 books in my, recently shrunken, storage unit and another 5,000 or so in the shop I run an old-fashioned book business with every book listed, graded, picked, packed and posted by my own fair hand… abetted by my Jack Russells who are really, not, helpful.

Spécialité

The Preservation of Green Laning in England, The Care & Support of Jack Russells, The Ritual Observation of the Great British Tradition of the Friday Night Beer
