A propos de cet article

First Hampton Library Edition. Hardcover. 182, [ii] pp. Published by Brockhampton Press, Leicester (1966). Copyright 1959 stated to title page verso. Illustrated with continuous monochrome chapter drawings by Leslie Stead, closing with a 2-page list of available titles. The book is a Near-Fine example—fresh lime-green covers with crisp black-stamped lettering along the spine. Completely free of previous owner inscriptions, names, or bookplates; internally immaculate, tight, and clean all round. Housed in the original, virtually complete dust jacket featuring the distinctive 'Hampton Library' cartouche at the spine base. The jacket remains unclipped, displaying the original 3/6d net price on the inside flap. Shows minor chipping to the spine head, rubbing to the outer panels and edges, and a tiny area of loss at the base of one joint crease with a light associated wrinkle. Rear panel displays minor surface dust only. A solid, copy of this later-series adventure. Note: Biggles sends the Air Police team to the outermost tip of South America—the rugged, freezing archipelago of Tierra del Fuego. Following a mysterious tip-off from Biggles' former Cold War rival, Erich von Stalhein, the team investigates a lost cache of British gold hidden away on a remote island by a German warship during the First World War. To maintain a convincing cover story for local authorities, Biggles pretends to be searching for two missing English botanists, Carter and Barlow. Operating a brand-new amphibious aircraft called the Gadfly, the team battles extreme Antarctic weather and hostile landscape features in a high-stakes race against international opportunists to recover the lost bullion.…

Description de la boutique

I have collected books most of my life. My collection has reduced now to about 4,000 items. I list a few more as time goes by! It is difficult sometimes to allow old friends to move on. Of course, they can find fresh enthusiasm from their new owners. No matter how many items you handle, there's always excitement and interest. It is vital however that my items are described accurately and I would hope to offer good value. If you see something that you feel is 'too high' for your pocket, don't hesitate to make me an offer. I try to keep the postage costs down, and within the United Kingdom this will be free. Posting abroad will be competitive, and often I will not ask for additional amounts if this is viable. But weight of items is the deciding factor. I will add images to my descriptions, and I hope that the combination will help you to decide. Regardless, always double check or take time to contact me for further information, or merely just to clarify a point. Ask for more images. If I can reduce anything I will do so. If you purchase more than one item, then offering a decent discount is likely. If items are not as described or you have a valid problem with any item, then I am happy to make a full or partial refund. This will be in line with all Statutory guidelines e.g returning the book in the condition it was delivered, and do let me know as quickly as possible. If damage has occurred then try to provide images. Ring me on 01352-810931…
