The deadly, pre-apocalyptic trials composing the last week of Dr. Madeline Knight’s life have ended in a blood-spattered manhunt through the southern Louisiana swamps—her parents want her dead, man wants her body, and the Devil wants her soul…

Nightmare-plagued and living under a false identity, fifteen years after a near-death beating freed her from her parents’ violent home, Madeline’s career as a resident psychiatric-exorcist at the country’s most controversial research hospital is finally taking flight—until her estranged sister, Gabriella, appears on her doorstep warning that their parents’ life-long threat of death as revenge for abandoning the family has just been instated, and that their brother, Maxwell, is already dead.

Now, as her family’s evil, immortal secrets are painfully revealed, under the strict guidance of a Vodou priestess, Madeline’s race to avenge Maxwell’s murder and save her and Gabriella’s lives turns into a crusade for the mortal salvation of the whole world. But when Madeline’s nightmares become her reality, the diabolical demons of her past will drive her to the edge of madness, threatening her journey to Life’s Crossroads—where all debts will come due.

From New Orleans to Salem, Chicago to Cincinnati, to Haiti and back again, the souls of humanity are at stake as eternity and extinction collide, and the top two leaders of the Final War of Heaven and Hell descend and ascend upon the earthly plane. Except Madeline is coveted by both, and unless she accepts the truths decoding her buried lineage, she will succumb to the same fate as the psychiatric patients she was born to save.
