A propos de cet article

1930. Reprint from January 1930 (the first printing was in November 1929). xxi, [i], 285pp. Edward Dahlberg (1900-1977) was an American novelist, essayist, and autobiographer. He was born in Boston and, together with his mother, led a vagabond existence until 1905 when she operated the Star Lady Barbershop in Kansas City. He was sent to a Catholic orphanage in Kansas City at the age of six for one year, and in 1912 he was sent to the Jewish Orphan Asylum in Cleveland, where he lived until 1917. There is some wear to the titling on the spine and front board and a light bump to the bottom corner of the front board. The spine ends are more heavily bumped. The contents are tight and clean apart from a few scattered light marks and a stain on the bottom margin of pages 1, 27 and 28. There is a light bump to the top corner of the preliminary and first twenty-five or so pages. The free endpapers are browned and the rear endpapers have a repaired split down the spine gutter. There is no inscription.…
