Soft Cover, No DJ. Book is in Very Good condition with cover being made of heavy card stock, stapled in two spots with the sturdy, metal staples. Has some light soiling and discolor, along with some minor spine and edge wear only. The truth, good and bad. And also what the "Brass checks" are and how the "red light districts" did get that name. The book has dozens of interesting photos and a few color advertisements. Each photo has a full caption explaining who and what are contained in each one. Storied characters such as "Diamond Lil" and "Jennie Rogers" along with many more, both serving black and white communities of men there for the Gold Rush. Names, dates, places and more. A very interesting "history" book! Inside book is clean, tightly bound, no flaws or markings noted.…
