Item description from seller

Oversized hardcover. Bound in dark red cloth over boards with gold lettering on spine. Covers are generally clean aside from some small marks, stains, and scuffs. Faded along spine with light wear along outer corners. Binding is slightly loosened but still tight and secure. Pages are clean and crisp with light toning along edges. Printed in B&W with 63 full-color plates in rear. 334 pages. Title page dated 1927. Copyright page dated 1927. Previously owned by Lincoln Brower; his name is written on front free endpaper, dated "October 19, 1949." "On EN" is written on spine, referring to ENDNOTE, the bibliographical program Brower used to organize his books. We've got a wonderful bookcase or two of books from Lincoln Brower's collection listed here. Everything you know about Monarch Butterflies, you know because of Brower's work, both scientific and outreach. He was a great teacher, an important researcher, a torch-bearing conservationist, and a leading light in lepidoptery. We are extremely excited to offer his books. Please email with questions or to request photos. Note: if there is a photo beside this listing, it's a STOCK photo that ABE put there (for reasons that we cannot understand or control) and might not match this actual book. This is an oversized book, so extra shipping will be necessary for priority or international shipping.

Description de la boutique

We're at 805 Caroline Street, in the heart of Fredericksburg's historic district. Open Monday to Saturday 10-6; and Sunday 12-5. In warmer months we stay open until 9 most nights, but you might want to call ahead. (540) 373-6148 Shipping rates are for Media Mail, in a padded envelope - WE DO NOT ADD TRACKING UNLESS THE CUSTOMER REQUESTS IT AND PAYS FOR IT - we have been selling books online for more than 20 years & find that the USPO delivers 99.99% of packages quickly and safely, without any need for a tracking number. We trust them & we hope you will too. If you need tracking, please consider PRIORITY SHIPPING. We ship orders valued at more than $50 in a box, at no additional charge. Priority mailing is for a Flat-Rate envelope, with tracking included. If the book does not fit into a flat rate envelope, we will likely need to request extra shipping costs from you, in order to put it in a box. We only charge the actual amount of shipping, so we hope you'll understand that it's just a matter of getting the book to you without taking a loss on it -- shipping is a service we happily offer without a 'handling' charge.... but we can't afford to charge you less than the cost of the stamps!
