Synopsis :

The contemporary world imposes rules, standards and behaviors on us that we must follow if we want to be accepted in dominant groups. And the power present in these groups is more exaggerated the more fragile the people involved are. Living in a society where you have to maintain an image of a perfect life on social media takes its toll. And the practitioners of anorexia and bulimia, the so-called Anas and Mias, are willing to pay with their lives to feel included in this world that is based on Instagram filters and Facebook likes and compliments. To do this, they have created a world of their own within specific groups on social media to strengthen their eating disorders, which they see as a lifestyle rather than a serious psychological problem. For Anas and Mias, being as light as a butterfly and being able to get lots of “likes” on their photos is worth any sacrifice. And this book, which is the result of a scientific study, aims to show how far young women are willing to go in search of an ideal body in order to feel accepted by society and by themselves.
