The idea was for a group of twelve men of diverse occupational backgrounds to meet each month except December. [A member ] to deliver a paper on some controversial subject which would then result in an animated discussion." 58 selections from 20 contributors, on subjects far and wide. Among those selections of artistic or local interest are from the painter Raymond Jonson, "Introductory Notes on the Idea" (Mar 1940), "Aspects of Space in Painting" (Dec 1947), "Some Elements of Quality" (Aug 1949) / and from the architect John Gaw Meem, "Southwest Architecture" (May, 1953), "Sybolism in Our Local Architecture" (Jun,1962) / or from John K.S. Walter, "My Story" (Feb, 1982) (about the WWII Internment Camp for Japanese men in Santa Fe, includes the first-hand experience of Tatsuo Manabe, "I Was a Guest of American Humanism" / or from Herman Barkmann, "Confessions of a Nuclear Engineer, or, Why Did It All Happen To Me?"
