A propos de cet article

Duodecimo; 10, [i]-303 pages, contemporary calf, tips of spine chipped, spine label, two names on free endpaper, preliminary leaves waterstained at lower right corner; covers nearly disbound. The ten letters at the front contain letters of commendation written in 1838. Gen. Macomb detailed Capt. Cooper to compile this handbook, simplified from other Army manuels, to benefit, particularly, volunteer officers. Cooper wnt on to become a General Officer, and, eventually, the Adjutant-General and the highest ranking general in the Confederate Army. This manual has been recommended even for Civil War re-enactors by The Drill Network. This work has many illustrations, but also 20+ pages of instructions for drummers and buglers. The manual instructs the Infantry, the Riflemen, the Artillery, the Cavalry, and the duties and behaviors while being in camps.
