A propos de cet article

AS IS: Lacking the Gold Fields map. 104pp. + frontispiece map (edges repaired), foldout map 'Economic Geologic Map of the Cripple Creek District' and foldout promotional poster of Colorado Springs. B/w in-text photos throughout. 9.25' x 12.25', lacking the original cover, rebound with stab-staples in plain manilla wraps. Extremities quite worn and abraded, title page detached, horizontal tears to the first fourteen and final twelve pages, some repaireed with old tape, edges dampstained. Included in the text are the history of the gold's discovery, descriptions of current mining operations and outlines of companies; a full page map facing the prologue shows railroad and wagonroad ties. The authors are unsympathetic to the famous 1894 miners' strike, and the populist Governor Davis Hanson Waite is referred to as a 'blatherskite and a demagogue'.…
