Original watercolour 200 x 315 mm. window mounted in thick paper, a couple of areas of surface damage including a small whole and overall browning to the surface. Walter Greaves [1846 - 1930] was the son of J.M.W. Turner's boatman and in his early years associated with James McNeill Whistler; then after some years in obscurity he was briefly championed by Goupil Gallery in 1911, subsequently in 1922 by the Grosvenor Gallery with the support of Augustus John, William Nicholson and William Rothenstein.
