A gallery of images documents the colleges, the churches, the streets and the river, while also providing a glimpse into Cambridge University life. A short introduction gives a historical summary of the city from its earliest days and the arrival of the university in the 13th century. This book is a must for anyone who loves Cambridge.
À propos de l'auteur: Tim Rawle read Architecture at Downing College, Cambridge, after which he was awarded the Caldicott Scholarship for postgraduate study at the Architectural Association. After two years working as an assistant architect he left architectural practice to work as a graphic designer, photographer and author. His first book, Cambridge Architecture, published in 1985, is the most comprehensive pictorial survey of the city ever undertaken, accompanied by an equally informative text. In 1991 he set up the Cambridge Portfolio, which specializes in publications unique to this city.
