Gand, J. Vuylsteke, éditeur, 1894, v pp + 216 pp, index, sewn, orig. printed wrapper. Wrapper a bit dustsoiled, unopened copy of the first original edition. Original edition of the catalogue of the famous collection of ancient musical instruments of Cesar Charles Snoeck ( Ronse 1834 - 1898 ). His collection was one of the finest ever to be made. The catalogue comprises 1143 entries. The collection failed to be bought by the Belgian State. Part of it was acquired by the '' Berliner Musikinstumenten-Museum ''. Many items were lost in the Second World War. Four Ruckers harpsichords and an original Hotteterre flute survived. The musical instruments of the Netherlands , 437 items, were put on the market with a separate catalogue, which is also on offer here. (Gent, Imprimerie Vanderpoorten, 1903, in-8° , 65 pp). Most of these instruments were acquired by the Brussels' Museum of Musical Instruments (MIM). Very rare set of the two catalogues of the Snoeck's collection , here in the original first edition.
