A propos de cet article

This volume advocates for including feature films in secondary history classrooms by examining the ways in which films can promote students' historical understanding while also addressing the potential drawbacks to using film. The book is organized into three distinct sections. Part I, "Frameworks for the Analysis of Film," explores how secondary students analyze historical film and television, featuring studies on Murrow Confronts McCarthy and The Aviator. Contributors to this volume include John E. O'Connor, Stuart R. Poyntz, Scott Alan Metzger, Peter Seixas, Peter M. Meyerson, Richard J. Paxton, Jeremy D. Stoddard, Ron Briley, and Stephen Armstrong. …
