Certain challenges and opportunities seem to follow specific seasons in a pastor’s life. Aspiring pastors wonder how to manage their ambition for ministry against the character qualifications found in Scripture. New pastors question whether the ordinary means of grace are enough to be successful. On the other side of ministry, mature pastors may wonder whether they are still the right man for the job. After all, they have served their church for ten, twenty, or even thirty years—maybe it’s time for a new voice. Retired pastors contemplate how their ministry came and went so fast. This issue of Church Matters considers each season of pastoral ministry with the aim to encourage pastors to be faithful. After all, your job description, pastor, is to “shepherd the flock of God that is among you” knowing that “when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory” (1 Pet. 5:2a, 4b).
9Marks exists to help pastors build healthy churches. We create resources and host events focused on expositional preaching, gospel doctrine, conversion and evangelism, church membership, church discipline, discipleship and growth, church leadership, prayer, and missions. Learn more at 9Marks.org.

Softcover/Paperback. Etat : Fair. Publisher Description: The church at Corinth was hardly a model church. Preoccupied with all sorts of matters that led these early Christians astray, it is easy to see why Paul is matter-of-fact, rebuking and correcting them in his letter. However, the church at Corinth was God's church, and that, as Paul reminds the Corinthians, is why it matters to God very much indeed. In these studies on 1 Corinthians 1-7, we will learn to see church the way that God sees church, and why, therefore, church matters. About the Series: This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. This series aims to provide simple, straightforward Bible study material for: Christians who are new to studying the Bible (perhaps because they've been recently converted or because they have joined a Bible study group for the first time) Christians who find other studies (such as the Interactive Bible Studies) too much of a stretch Groups with limited time for study Accordingly, we've designed the studies to be short, straightforward and easy to use, with an uncomplicated vocabulary. At the same time, we've tried to do justice to the passages being studied, and to model good Bible-reading principles. We've tried to be simple without being simplistic; no-nonsense without being no-content. The questions and answers assume a small group context, but can be easily adapted to suit different situations, such as individual study and one-to-one. N° de réf. du vendeur 230741
