À propos de l'auteur: Donald J. Cann, a park ranger for the National Park Service in the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, served in the US Army. John J. Galluzzo is the executive director of the US Life-Saving Service Heritage Association; the editor of that organization's magazine, Wreck and Rescue; and a plank-owning member of the Foundation for Coast Guard History. Capt. W. Russell Webster, USCG (Ret.), served 26 years in military service. While in the Coast Guard, he served as Group Woods Hole rescue commander from 1998 to 2001 and chief of operations for the First Coast Guard District.
