The Collected Essays of George Orwell is a posthumous compilation of essays written by the British author George Orwell. It was first published in 1961, a year after Orwell's death, and it contains a selection of his essays from the 1930s to the 1950s. The book was edited by Sonia Orwell (Orwell's widow) and Ian Angus. The collection contains some of Orwell's most famous essays, such as "Politics and the English Language," "Shooting an Elephant," and "Such, Such Were the Joys," as well as many lesser-known pieces. The essays cover a wide range of topics, including politics, literature, social commentary, and personal memoir.
