Original publisher's gray cloth binding with green lettering and decorations. Illustration of a woman bathing in a pool while four men, backs turned toward her, read books. 6 1/2" x 9 1/2." Pages 171-328, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Advertisements for book-related businesses in the back. Pages and covers are very clean and intact except for slight darkening to the spine and a tiny spot on front cover. Binding is tight. A Near Fine copy. The Colophon was a quarterly periodical that was published from 1929-1950. The periodical was established by Elmer Adler (1884-1962), the founder of Pynson Printers in New York City. The articles of The Colophon cover a diverse range of topics, but all relate in some way to printing, publishing, art, and literature.
