Including popular works such as 'A Tale of a Trumpet' and 'A Lay of Real Life'. Thomas Hood is best known for his poems, 'The Bridge of Sighs' and 'The Song of the Shirt'. With a preface by Thomas Hood the Younger. Previous owner's contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 1893. In the publisher's full cloth binding with gilt detail. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the edges and fading to the spine. Bumping and fraying to the spine and a few small marks to the rear board. Hinges are strained but firm.
