Collated, complete.Containing a comprehensive description of nearly all herbs, alongside their medicinal properties and instructions for making up herbal remedies. Among those described are vervain, samphire, mugwort, viper's grass, star-thistle, toad-stools, tobacco, carraway, hemp, horsetail and more.From eminent English botanist, herbalist and physician Nicholas Culpeper. First appearing under the title The English Physitian in 1652 this work had enormous sales, forming the basis of herbalism in the English-Speaking world and serving as a source of pharmaceutical and herbal lore of the time. In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards. Hinges are starting, but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
