A modern dogmatics text, Confessing the Gospel: A Lutheran Approach to Systematic Theology presents readers with contemporary discussions of pressing issues and current challenges in the last several decades of the Church's life. Readers will uncover a recent perspective on Lutheran systematic theology that complements the masterful work of Francis Pieper in his three volumes of Christian Dogmatics. The first dogmatics published by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in nearly a century, each chapter of Confessing the Gospel is structured around five building blocks - scriptural foundation, confessional witness, systematic formulation, historical and contemporary developments, and implications for life and ministry - and firmly grounded in Scripture. Confessing the Gospel is invaluable for Lutheran pastors, teachers, professors, and Christians who want to arrive at a deeper understanding of the Lutheran confession of the faith.
