A propos de cet article

A selection of 20th-century cookbooks, offering home-grown recipes, Ambrose Heath's economical war-time dishes, and more. Offering six cookery books, ranging from recipes that use British wild vegetables, a collection of 150 hors d'oeuvres, and economical dishes for war-time rationing. In the publisher's original dust wrappers, 'Wild Foods' and 'Our Daily Food' being price-clipped.The entirety of this set comprises the following:Cook"s Tour of European Kitchens: The Best Continental Dishes Suited to an English Table by K. And M. von Schumacher (1933) First edition 150 Hors D"Oeuvre Recipes by "Pin" Baglioni (1939) Second edition New Dishes for Old: Food Values and Substitute Recipes by Ambrose Heath (1942) First edition Wild Foods of Britain by Jason Hill (1944) Third edition Our Daily Food by Hilda M. Coley (c1948) - Book Club edition What to Grow and How to Cook It by William Blackley (1955) First edition In the original cloth bindings. With the original dust wrappers, 'Wild Foods' and 'Our Daily Food' being price-clipped.Externally, very smart, with fading to the spine head and tail of 'What to Grow', otherwise only mild rubbing and bumping across the remaining volumes. Dust wrappers to 'What to Grow' and 'Cook's Tour' are most notably chipped, with tape to 'What to Grow'. Tape also reinforced to large closed tear of 'Our Daily Food'. Sunning and handling marks of varying degrees across the set. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with spotting to the endpapers of 'Wild Foods' and the odd spot to 'Cook's Tour'. Ownership bookplate tipped-in to the front free endpapers. Very Good Indeed.…
