Madrid, Imprenta Real de la Gazeta, 1769. En 4º (236 x 177)mm. (2), 64, (4) pp. Guardas de papel. Tercera edición, la primera impresa en Lima en 1731. A pesar de correr como obra independiente, fue publicada dentro del tomo tercero de la Colección general de documentos que contiene los sucesos tocantes a? la segunda época de las conmociones de los Regulares de la Compañía en el Paraguay, impresa por la imprenta Real de la Gaceta. Contiene el informe de Mathias de Anglés y Gortari sobre las disputas en Paraguay entre los padres de la Compañía de Jesús y D. José de Antequera. El informe de Anglés y Gortari está fechado en Potosí, a 10 de mayo de 1731. El libro contiene al fin el Testimonio de Carta del P. Laurencillo Rillo, de la Compañía de Jesús, Provincial de la Provincia del Paraguay, fechada en el Río del Pasage a 24 de febrero de 1729, y una Carta de Don Juan Tomás Araoz, escrita en el Paraguay con fecha de 13 de enero de 1729, dirigidas al general Anglés, tocantes a los mismos sucesos. José de Antequera y Castro (1689-1731) fue un criollo panameño que ocupó varios cargos en la administración colonial. En 1721, siendo fiscal de la Audiencia de Charcas, ejerció sus atribuciones de «juez pesquisidor» en Paraguay, con el objetivo de solucionar los problemas entre el pueblo paraguayo y el gobernador de Asunción, Diego de los Reyes. Su misión en Paraguay tendrá un diferente resultado ya que abrazará la causa paraguaya y destituirá al gobernador ocupando él mismo dicho cargo, en contra de lo dispuesto desde Lima. Este hecho inició la Revolución Comunera. Antequera expulsó a los jesuitas del territorio guaraní en 1724, lo que provocó que el virrey del Perú, José de Armendáriz, encomendara su captura a una expedición militar comandada por el gobernador del Río de la Plata, Bruno Mauricio de Zabala. Antequera huyó a Córdoba del Tucumán,? se refugió en un convento franciscano, y luego partió clandestinamente hacia Lima, en donde fue capturado en 1726. Al finalizar su proceso, que duró cinco años, el gobernador fue finalmente condenado a muerte y ahorcado en medio de una trifulca en la Plaza de Armas de Lima el 5 de julio de 1731. Muy buen ejemplar de este libro importante para la historia de Paraguay, de grandes márgenes, limpio e impreso sobre fuerte papel; portada ligeramente sucia, por lo demás perfecto. 236x177mm.
