A propos de cet article

At the end of the nineteenth Century as survivors of the Revolution died off, there was a resurgence of interest in the stories and correspondence of those who had lived through it. This is one such collection: the unedited letters of the widowed Comtesse de Sabran and the brilliant Chevalier de Boufflers. As aristocrats attempting to survive, this first hand account of various moments from this time when more French died in the fight for egalite than in the 300 years previous under the old regime, written in French with little or no expunged parts, this is a primary source for the thoughts and actions taken by those attempting to survive despite their aristocratic backgrounds. A nicely bound book, this is navy leather with linen boards, some with a little scuffing on the front and sides. A quite handsome ridged and banded spine is accented with gilt geometric patterns, along with gilt lettering for the title and dates. Signed binding of Truelove and Hanson B Sloane. Please do not hesitate to contact for more information or pictures.Very Good Condition: 8vo, 3/4 Leather in navy with navy linen boards and pale blue marble endpapers.
