Contemporary full leather; slender splitting along joints with boards a bit pliable but holding; slender subtle residue of an old binding repair along boards' spine margins; some chipping to spine with board edges worn. Antiquarian ink mark at ffep's top right; several old pencil signatures on early leaves; moisture stains to leaves with toning/foxing; horizontal tear to pages 153-154. Several leaves/quires slightly pulled but text block remains reasonably firm. American edition of a 1712 poem regarding King David by English Quaker religious writer Thomas Ellwood who had a friendship with John Milton during the 1660s.
