Each year thousands of Christians commit to read through the Bible in a year. THE NRSV DAILY BIBLE makes that easier and more meaningful by helping people reflect on these rich truths. Broken up into 365 daily readings, this Bible will feature thought-provoking meditations based on the practice of Lectio Divina (literally “divine reading”), a contemplative approach to reading the Bible. By rediscovering the ancient practice of Lectio Divina, readers will be inspired to set aside time each day to read, meditate, pray, and contemplate Scripture in a deeper way. Key features of this Bible include: - New Revised Standard Version text - the most trusted, accepted, and accurate translation of the Bible on the market - Individual book introductions to aide in the practice of Lectio Divina (”divine reading”) - A daily reading plan that can be started at any time during the year - Meditations from well-known Christian thinkers and writers such as Henri Nouwen, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Thomas Merton, and Frederick Buechner.
