Here is recounted the stirring history of the Clan Davidson from its beginnings in the mists of medieval Caledonian history down to the present time. The clan's turbulent exploits spanned the bloodthirsty, feuding saga of Scotland's history and the dramatic tales here retold recall dashing Highland charges, brutal battles, breathless chases and deadly duels. Originating on the shores of Loch Lomond, the Davidsons went on to gain glory in the service of Robert the Bruce at the battle of Bannockburn and were rewarded for their valiant efforts with extensive Highland estates. They went on to play a leading part in their country's history and their full story is here recounted in all its exciting detail. This little book contains, where available, the clan motto, crest and tartan, in addition to the history of the name.
