Despite complaints from politicians about government waste, one of the biggest black holes--spending on water projects--remains unchecked and mismanaged. So says Daniel P. Beard, author of this controversial account of his experience working in the government on many levels, not the least of which was as the Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation. It's time to take a hard look at what's not working and fix it. Deadbeat Dams does just that.
