A propos de cet article

A very nice sound copy of the dedication for the Oglethrope Monument located on Grassy Knob (later renamed Mount Oglethrope) Georgia in 1930 by Colonel Sam Tate, the owner of Georgia Marble Company, at that time the largest marble quarry in the United States. The Monument was located 10 miles east of the quarry, at the terminus of the Appalachian Trail until 1958. It was restored and moved to Jasper Georgia in 1999. This handout for the dedication in 1930 contains the addresses by Mr. Tate, Justice Price Gilbert and Hon. Randolph Anderson and celebrates the 200th anniversary of Oglethrope's landing in Georgia. Booklet is 32 pages long, with several black and white photos of the area, and attendees. Paper is clean and unmarked, with an occassional wrinkle to the first few pages of the booklet. Wrapper is heavy brown construction paper, with a marbled affect. No tears to either pages or wrapper. The wrapper reads, "Mount Oglethrope and the monument to the Founder of Georgia." The staples are solidly attached, and no fade to jacket. Comes to you in an archival document bag for storage. And I can have it in the mail tomorrow. BASB.…
