A propos de cet article

Paperback. "Ever since we were young, we've always dreamed of adventures, sometimes set on a remote island in the middle of the vast ocean. Surely alongside a beautiful woman, facing a thousand dangers, and still managing to come out alive from countless predicaments. Who hasn't dreamed of that? Answer me honestly. So, in the book The Desert Island Surrounded by Dangers: The Adventures of a Marine Archaeologist, a "child" that I now entrust to the reading public to follow its own destiny, I dared to do nothing more than give voice to the old dreams of my youth. I hope that the attentive reader will delight their soul by reading the story, which is told throughout its pages. Many passages in the book touch on real events occurring in today's world: the exploration of lost treasures at the bottom of the sea, which are only now being discovered thanks to available technology; the audacity of drug traffickers in transporting drugs to major consumer centers; the boldness of criminals linked to the illicit market for art, relics, and ancient jewels; the boldness of "coyotes" in illegal immigration to the United States; the continuous shipwrecks and disappearances of ships and aircrafts in the Bermuda Triangle region; the war involving the trafficking of clandestine weapons to the Middle East; the struggle for rescue in the event of accidents on the high seas. All of these are very current themes, although here they are treated with the support of fiction. Artur Medeiros," the story's most important character, around whom the plot is built, is a marine archaeologist who grew tired of his work as a university professor in Brazil and became a contractor for the Bahamian authorities to conduct underwater exploration of shipwrecks and guard an isolated island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. In solitude, he hopes to find himself, starting a new life in such a distant and deserted place. But after some time, the paradisiacal tranquility is suddenly shattered. First, by drug traffickers who arrived on the island in yachts, forcing him to get involved in shootouts. Then a pair of siblings kidnapped by drug traffickers appeared. Then, a lifeboat washed ashore on the island carrying a beautiful young woman: Nathalie. Next came the salvage of antique artifacts that had sunk to the bottom of the sea with the wreck of a 17th-century ship. Later, he had to face the "coyotes" smuggling illegal immigrants to the United States. After that, he became embroiled in a war between traffickers of clandestine weapons bound for the Middle East. The solitary Artur, just when he believed he was completely isolated from the outside world with that beautiful woman, enjoying boundless happiness, was confronted by an ambitious and unscrupulous rival interested in possessing everything that could be salvaged from the wreck of the 17th-century ship. And Artur ended up, at that very point in his life, entangled in the deadly misfortunes of a sinister plot." This item is printed on demand.
