Description :
Gift quality hardcover in illustrated paper covered boards with 2" abrasion on foot of rear board from tip. Light wear at tips and spine ends. No writing inside, vintage bookstore sticker on foot of rear paste down. Ninety tight, crisp pages are clean. 1937 is the only date listed within. Beige portrait papers (22) alternate with cream colored ones showing light age-toning at head. Original, un-clipped tan background illustrated dust wrapper has a 1/8th chip at head of spine. Jacket now in new mylar and displays very well. Lucy Dawson's friendly, sympathetic portraits of dogs so delighted readers of numerous English and American periodicals that they finally were gathered together to make a book.
