E-Waste and the Circular Economy in Technology

Vishal Thakor is a Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University -London, UK with over 16 years of extensive teaching experience, including more than six years at the university level in the UK. He holds a PhD in Cybersecurity, an MSc in Software Engineering, and a BE in Information Science. His core research interests lie in Cryptography, Information Security, Cybersecurity, and IoT deployment. He also possesses considerable expertise in Computer Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), SQL, MS Power BI, Algorithm Design, Data Structures, and AI/ML. He is proficient in programming with C, C++, and Python. Dr Vishal has a strong publication record, with numerous papers featured in prestigious journals such as IEEE Access, Elsevier, and Springer.

Suman Madan is a distinguished academician and researcher, currently serving as Professor at UGDX School of Technology, ATLAS SkillTech University, Mumbai, India. With over 27 years of teaching and academic leadership, she has contributed extensively to institutions affiliated with Delhi University and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Her research interests span Big Data Privacy Preservation, Internet of Things (IoT), High-Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. She has published many SCIE/SCOPUS-indexed papers. She has authored two books, Big Data Analytics and Trends in Generative AI, and contributed chapters to IGNOU MCA study material on DBMS, Electronic Commerce, Object-Oriented Programming, Assembly Language, and Digital Electronics. Dr. Madan holds nine patents, including two Indian utility patents, three design patents in Big Data and IoT, and one Australian innovation patent in Blockchain and IoT. Her research has been recognized with multiple Best Paper Awards at international conferences. She serves as a reviewer for leading journals including IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, and IGI Global, and has chaired sessions at reputed international conferences. She is an AICTE & CDAC-certified High-Performance Computing Master Trainer, an Innovation Ambassador under the Ministry of Education, and an IBM-certified Academic Associate in DB2. As a resource person, she has led Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Management Development Programs (MDPs), and workshops on Data Analytics, Robotics, Nature-Inspired Optimization, Tableau, and Database Query Handling for academia and industry. Her vision combines technology, ethics, and innovation, inspiring students and peers toward responsible and impactful computing.

Pratik Vyas is Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University-London,UK specialising in Data Visualisation and User experience research. He has worked on co-design methodology to co-create new ideas on educational technologies and digital transformation with local community as ‘experts of their lived experience’ using MMR tools to develop digital solutions. Pratik has developed Post-doc, PhD, research partnerships and institutional partnerships (MoU) with many international partners. Pratik is reviewer for DegriPark, ICDVRAT conference, ICCCNet conference, IEEE access, IHCONCS conference and PIMRC conference. He has established research and innovation contribution as project leader in the areas of VR for cognition, Educational Technology, automated vehicular security. The beneficiaries of contributions by Pratik are the partnering educational institutions (students, teachers, institutional and policy experts), people with Intellectual disability and aging adults, automated vehicle users, and Blue light services in Northeast England (Norsc lab). The wider audience include Industry collaborators and research consortia who engage as expert UX consultant and technology development. Lastly, EDI activity growth, BAME efforts and Quality assurance have increased in beneficiaries where outcomes were disseminated by Pratik and his teams.

Vishal Jain is currently serves as a Professor and Dean of Accreditation, Statutory Compliances & Institutional Development at the School of Engineering & Technology, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies - Technical Campus, New Delhi. His previous roles include Professor at Sharda University, Greater Noida, and Associate Professor at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi. Dr. Jain has actively participated in various academic governance bodies, including the Faculty Board, Board of Planning and Management, Executive Council, Academic Council, Curriculum Development and Review Committee, and Academic Audit across multiple higher education institutions. He collaborates with Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST), Lincoln University College, Putra Business School, and the Research Institute of IoT Cybersecurity at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan for research initiatives.

Rutal Mahajan is a distinguished academician and researcher with over 14 years of teaching experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Utica University, NY, USA and teaching UG and PG students. She earned her Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology Surat, where she was awarded the prestigious Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Fellowship by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, India. Before joining Utica University, Dr. Mahajan was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Symbiosis International (Deemed University). There, she taught courses such as Big Data Analytics and Data Structures and Algorithms, coordinated undergraduate major projects, and actively promoted industry-centered education for AIML students. Prior to her tenure at Symbiosis, she served at SNPITRC, Umrakh, where she focused on teaching a wide range of subjects, from the basics of computer science to advanced topics in AI, ML, and the latest trends in the field, to students. Dr. Mahajan has made significant contributions to the field of AI through her extensive research on computational humor and emotion recognition in multilingual texts using semantic-based analysis. Her work includes the creation of datasets for code-mixed emotion recognition and the application of both machine learning and deep learning models to solve complex problems in regional languages. She has authored numerous research papers published in reputed SCI and SCOPUS journals and has presented her work at international conferences. Her research interests include Natural Language Processing, sentiment analysis, emotion recognition, and High-Performance Computing (HPC). Dr. Mahajan is recognized for her clear communication and ability to simplify complex concepts, making her an effective educator. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Mahajan is actively involved in promoting holistic lifestyle practices, helping individuals manage lifestyle diseases naturally. She is also dedicated to spreading awareness about the importance of HPC as a certified master trainer from CDAC and AICTE, leveraging her expertise to guide the next generation of AI professionals.
