"Showing the Progress of the Survey" Seven contiguous sheets, 1868-1881, from Point Sal in Santa Barbara County to "Seven Islands", Alaska. Seven Islands group is not designated as such today - it is a bit south of Kodiak, south-southeast of Sutwik Island, in the Aleutian chain. Large maps, from 19 to 35 inches wide, from 21 to 33 inches tall; folded by the publisher for insertion in a portfolio.
