A propos de cet article

264pp. Red boards, gilt titles on spine, gilt logo on front board. Residue of library classification sticker on spine. Library bookplate on front pastedown. Call number on copyright page in pencil. Library pocket and check out slip on rear free endpaper, barcode on rear pastedown. Book was checked out exactly once. Binding tight and square, pages clean and unmarked apart from the listed marking. Text block shows no markings, annotations, or library stamps, etc. Reissue of Shlakman's lone book length work, originally issued in 1935, now remarkably scarce. Her study runs from the 18th century to the Great Depression. Shlakman was a victim of Red Scare, and the scrutiny and false accusations interrupted her teaching career and effectively ended her contributions to her field in print. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
