A propos de cet article

Sprache: Deutsch Broschur 4;; Volume I. 273 Seiten + Volume II. 184 Seiten; Bibliotheksstempel auf Rückseite Haupttitel, etikettiert; - This is the first of two volumes which form a continuation of Dr. Chaos earlier publication in this series, Agrarian Policies of Mainland China (1949-1956). As in that earlier work, his task here was to survey the copious documentation emanating from Peking and select from it key documents--in this case, on the central topic of Economic Planning and Organization. Most of these documents Dr. Chao translated into English for the first time. His notes give extensive bibliographical references and his Introductory Comments on each group of documents discuss their significance and supply relevant data, beginning in the first section with a description of the state planning procedure. Among the latter, economists have shown a remarkable lack of desire to deviate from their chosen procedures and deal with the specific region of China and its flood of ambiguous statistics. Researchers who have studied both economics and the Chinese language are not numerous, and their number is becoming daily more inadequate as the urgency of analyzing the Chinese economy so patently increases. The selection and translation of key documents is an essential first step toward the union of these two very different disciplines. - - -.…
