Fray to head and heel of spine, corners rubbed to boards. Small 1938 date stamp to front pastedown. A child has embellished the title page with some pencil markings which have been erased but still leave faint impressions. Text shows soiling and thumb smudging throughout, pages are torn, chipped and dog earred. This does nothing to diminish the wonderful work as a whole, the gorgeous full-color illustrations throughout by Donn P. Crane, Keith Ward, M.S. and A.F. Hurford.
