Item description from seller
Neuware - Energy Transport Infrastructure for a Decarbonized Economy evaluates the transportation of fluids required in the decarbonized energy economy. The book will help researchers, design manufacturers, and those within government and academia to understand challenges and guide the design and development of systems, machinery, and infrastructure needed for a decarbonized energy economy. The book provides comprehensive insights on the implications of the energy transition for a critical aspect of commerce: the infrastructure central to energy transportation and the economy. This practical book highlights the unique systems central to the efficient transport of various forms of energy. After outlining the need for transporting energy, types of fluids used to transport energy, and various means of transportation, the book covers the importance of understanding the energy marketplace, global perspectives, and then moves into the transport of natural gas, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. The work concludes with coverage of technology gaps, research and development, future trends, and solutions. Led by professionals with decades of experience and collecting insights from expert contributors, this book begins with the essentials of energy transport, provides detailed coverage of modes of transport, considers critical questions of energy supply and economics, and looks at long-term environmentally sensitive, sustainable options for the transport thereof.A powerful tool for the energy transition, Energy Transport Infrastructure for a Decarbonized Economy offers expert analysis on sustainable energy transport and its impact on our future. …

À propos de l’auteur
Dr. Allison is Machinery Dept. Director at Southwest Research Institute(R) where he leads an organization focused on R&D for the energy industry. His research experience includes analysis, fabrication and testing of turbomachinery and systems for advances power or oil & gas applications including high-pressure turbomachinery, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, expanders, gas turbines, and test rigs for bearings, seals, blade dynamics and aerodynamic performance. Dr. Allison holds two patents, has authored four book chapters, co-edited two books and published over 79 articles on turbomachinery topics. He received the best tutorial / paper awards from the ASME Oil & Gas Supercritical CO2 Power Cycle Committees in 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2018. Tim is a past chairman of the ASME Oil & Gas Applications Committee, past and current co-chair for the Thermal-Chemical-Mechanical Energy Storage Workshop, a past and current co-chair of the Supercritical CO2 Symposium Planning Committee, a past and current cochair of the Industrial Process Emissions Reduction (IPER) Technology Workshop Planning Committee, and an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines & Power.
His organization is responsible for the design, research and development of Solar's Centrifugal Gas Compressors, including aerodynamic, rotordynamic, and mechanical design. Dr. Kurz attended the Universitaet der Bundeswehr in Hamburg, Germany, where he received the degree of a Dr.-Ing. in 1991. He has authored numerous publications about turbomachinery related topics, is an ASME fellow, and a member of the Turbomachinery Symposium Advisory Committee. He also won the ASME Industrial Gas Turbine Award in 2013. Dr. Kurz is a member of the TPS Advisory committee.
Dr. Wygant is the Senior Manager of Advanced Technology Programs at Elliott Group. In this role he helps define technology needs for future product introduction to the market. Dr. Wygant was previously COO of Hanwha Power Systems Americas, an OEM of integrally geared compressors) where he oversaw business operations in North and South America. He concurrently led new product development of integrally geared products for: LNG, Plant Air, Air Separation, Oil and Gas Applications as well as the design and development of a 5MW super-critical carbon dioxide power system for concentrated power and heat recovery applications. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Norwich University.
