This book is a debutante work of the author whereby she has made an attempt to determine the validity and necessity of the presumption of legitimacy inherent in Section 112 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 in the light of constitutional sanction as well as the recent socio-technological advancements. Couched in simple layman terms this book seeks to avoid any excessive use of legalese or technical jargon so that it remains helpful as much for an ordinary layman as for a law student.

The author Pragya Mishra, hails from Agra- City of Taj, India. She completed her intermediate from St. Patrick’s Junior College, Agra, in Science stream. Currently an undergraduate law student at Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur,India, she is a topper with a CGPA of 9.03. She has published 15 research papers in reputed legal journals.
