I love Simon s philosophy. He makes you realise your salons potential and guides you through the common pitfalls of the day to day running of a salon. It really changes the way you look at yourself, your staff and your business. In my opinion this book should be called ... The Salon Owners bible. -- Sue Beardsmore, Profiles Hairdressing
I would say my big AHA moment with this book came when it struck me that my employees (loyal and hard working) are looking at me to be the one thing I tried to avoid being ... THE BOSS! When I started my salon, all I ever wanted was to create a workspace where people, who love hairdressing as much as I do, are appreciated and allowed to grow, but for reasons I didn t understand ... it wasn t working. Now I realise my employees don't need me to be their friend or let them do as they please in the salon. To my surprise they prefer to have rules to follow, and guidelines to stick to. I m delighted to say since I started using the knowledge in this book I find myself becoming the employer I always wanted to be. -- Pamela Laird, Finn and Co
As someone who was in exactly the same boat as described in this book it seemed I was stuck in the 'RUT' at a dead end with nowhere to turn, until I started using the lessons you ll find in it. At first everything seemed way out of my comfort zone and I wondered how it would ever help. But soon my confidence and motivation returned; I didn't feel quite so stressed and felt a bit more like ME! Once I got to that point, I could see changes happening and light at the end of the tunnel ... not only with the business, but with my staff, myself and my personal life! My advice to you is; read this easy rule book and you ll never look back! -- Julia Suttie, Allure Hair and Beauty --Julia Suttie, Allure hair and Beauty
