4 Plays and an Opera - bound together in one 18th Century volume. In quarter leather with dutch floral paper covered boards. Covers worn, leather scraped/cracked/split with loss here and there, and the front cover is completely detatched. Contents = 'The Fair Penitent. A Tragedy' by Nicholas Rowe. (Printed for the Proprietors, London.1757) ; 'The Fatal Curiosity. A Tragedy of Three Acts with Alterations'. As is Performed at the Theatre in Smock-Alley by Mr. Lillo. (Printed by and for Meffrs Adams and Ryder, in Cope-Street; Dublin. 1766) ; 'Artaxerxes. An English Opera'. As it is Performed At the Theatre-Royal in Covent-Garden. The Mifick Compofed by Tho. Aug. Arne. (Printed by James Hoey, junior, in Parliament-Street and D. Chamberlaine, in Dame-Street, Dublin. 1764) Text ONLY. No music ; 'All for Love: Or The World well Loft. A Tragedy'. As is acted at the Theatre-Royal, by His Majesty's Servants; and written in Imitation of Shakefpear's Style. (By John Dryden, but no author noted) Printed for J. T. And sold by T. Jauncy.London. 1720) ; The Royal Convert. A Tragedy. Written by Nicholas Rowe. Printed for J. And R. Tonson. 1757). Some b/w wood 'cuts' in some plays, but not all - each play printed on different paper and in various conditions, most have some browning, creases and the odd mark, but are overall Good at the least. No Frontispieces to any, but title pages to all. The Dryden is very browned throughout, but uniformly, and all text clear in all plays. See Images. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall.
