He studied at the Brighton College of Art, before moving to London to work as a lettering artist and typographer for advertising agencies, later becoming the head of Birmingham School of Printing. Sweet's bindings are unique and striking, reflecting the topics of the volumes in distinctive style.Bound in modern crushed quarter morocco with marbled paper to the boards, endpapers and blanks renewed, with a cloth slipcase and chemise.Illustrated with one hundred and ten monochrome vignettes throughout. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright and clean pages with only the odd spot to the front and rear couple of pages. Fine.
