The present volume of ?Fauna Sinica? dealing with the Cirripedia Thoracica (Crustacea: Thecostraca) of the China seas consists of two main parts. The first part is a general account including systematic position of the group, historical review of studies on the thoracic cirripedian fauna, morphological structures and anatomy, embryonic and post-embryonic developments, phylogeny and taxonomic systems of Cirripedia Thoracica, distributional pattern and zoogeography of the Chinese thoracic fauna, biological and ecological characteristics, and their environmental implications.
