A lovely binding of this anonymous and compelling poem. A very smart copy of this poem, which was long assumed to have been written by D. W. Nash upon publication in the late 19th Century, having been discovered amongst his papers. The anonymous authorship here perhaps suggests a shift in this belief. This poem is full of apprehension of events to come, which some consider to have occured in the culmination of WWI, including references to foreseen shifts in foxhunting and farming practices. Bound in the original red cloth, with gilt motif to the front board. Bound in original red cloth. Externally, very smart. Mild fading to front board extremities and spine. Very mild bumping to extremities. Ink inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Moderate age toning to title page and rear blank. Near Fine.
