A propos de cet article
This is an interesting proto-graphic novel, "FUZZ AGAINST JUNK & THE HERO MAKER - The Saga of the Narcotics Brigade" by Akbar Del Piombo. 1966 1st edition published by The Olympia Press. Softcover. From the "Traveller's Companion Series," No. 106. Illustrated throughout with "collages" by Norman Rubington. The book is a collection of two satirical, proto-graphic novels that combine Beat Generation sensibilities, surrealist humor, and collage art using 19th-century illustrations. It serves as a countercultural critique of 1960's society, drug culture, and media, often utilizing absurd and bizarre narratives. Condition: Small, light stains at the bottom of the front cover and at the top-left corner of the back cover. The back cover has a light, vertical crease from the top edge to the bottom edge. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. The pages are clean with the exception of a small, light stain at the bottom of the last 3 pages, and one page at the front that has a foxing/stain(?) spot at the upper-outer corner. One page near the center has 2 small bits of paper missing at the bottom of the outer edge - this page appears to have been attached to the page facing it, and the tears resulted from separating them. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.…
