FIRST EDITION. Oblong 4to. 11 x 8.5 inches. 63 pp. Bound in original stiff card boards with cloth spine and pictorial front board, which has a small faint water-stain, not affecting the image. Decorated green endpapers. Extremities a little worn but otherwise a very good copy. Attractive 1897 gift inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 32 chromolithograph plates, including title page, and by other drawings in text. The thirteen Golliwogg adventures were published 1895-1909 and the verses were written by her mother, Bertha (1849-1912). ILLUSTRATED/CHILDRENS CHILDREN'S CHILDREN'S ILLUSTRATED 20TH CENTURY FIRST EDITION ILLUSTRATED/CHILDRENS.
