This is a handsome, fine-binding copy of "GEMS FROM TENNYSON" - a collection of poetical works by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. 1866; Ticknor and Fields; Boston. There are illustrations throughout by a variety of artists, including Winslow Homer and F.O.C. Darley. Nicely bound in full leather with a gilt border around the edges of the covers, gilt lettering and accents on the spine, gilt page edges on all sides, marbled end papers, five raised bands on the spine, and a decorative gilt border along the edges of the inside covers. Condition: There are a few areas on the covers where the blue leather has faded; worn corners. There is a 2" split at the bottom-right corner of the spine; small split at the top-right corner of the spine. Both covers are firmly attached, though the front cover is a bit shaky. Bright gilt page edges on all sides. Nice interior - the pages are lightly age-toned, but mostly clean with only an occasional stain/smudge and small foxing spot. Overall the book is in Good+ condition. N° de réf. du vendeur ABE-1654211079800
