A Geographical View of the Province of Upper Canada; And Promiscuous Remarks on the Government; In Two Parts; With an Appendix, Containing a Complete Description of the Niagara Falls: And Remarks Relative to the Situation of the Inhabitants Respecting the War; and a Concise History of its Progress, to the Present Date, By M. Smith, Third Edition, Printed by J. Bioren, for Thomas and Robert Desilver, October 1813, Philadelphia, 118 pp plus contents, contemporary binding in half leather, original marbled boards (?), 7 x 4.5”, 12mo. In good condition. Contemporary binding with half leather and original boards. Marbled boards are slightly toned with minor scuffing. Lacking frontispiece. Dampness staining in gutters of front end papers, quite toned. Front gutter tender. Light dampness staining to top edge of textblock continuously throughout. Light toning to text block with some minor instances of age staining. Free of known markings. Binding intact. Please see photos. An early gazetteer of Upper Canada by a Baptist minister who emigrated to Niagara region in 1808. There is much comment on social and political conditions as well as a history of the war.
